Violin

Cecelia Manyama (33) born and raised in Soweto.
I started playing the violin at the age of 10 in Diepkloof at the Buskaid Soweto Strings Project.  In 2008 I was awarded my DipABRSM,followed by my LRSM (Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music UK) as a violinist at Buskaid. I am particularly skilled at running both individual and group violin classes. As a teacher, I currently work with different schools including Saheti Greek private school and the National School of the Arts(NSA) .
I am a freelance violinist with various orchestras in Johannesburg, including the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra and am hired as a session musician too. My talents  include singing and I am an alto singer for the Soweto Gospel Choir.
Music is truly my life. If you don’t find me playing and teaching the violin, you will definitely hear me singing.
